Lockdown Battle Night Vol.3!!!
Lion City Lockers present:
Lockdown Battle Night Vol.3!!!
Yes that's right, the highly anticipated Vol.3 is here!
Battle format: 1 V 1!
**Audition will be held at 7pm sharp to choose the Top 16! **
Date: 2nd August (Sunday)
Venue: Studio Wu (SMU Branch)
Time: 8pm - 10pm
Doors open at 7.30pm!
Admission fee: $10 (same fee applies for both participants + audience)
Limited door gifts will be available!
*no worries i'll prepare more door gifts this time round, as the attendance for the previous lockdown were so big that we ran out of stock for door gifts pretty fast. but still, do try to be as early as u can for the event!
Battle Details:
BATTLE FORMAT
Audition Round – Dance Freestyle/Showcase
- Please state if you are joining the battle when paying admission fee at the door.
- Proceed to the Battle Registration Counter to register your entry for the battle.
- Participants will receive a participation number, to be issued at the registration counter.
- Participants will be called out in sequence according to their balloted numbers.
- Depending on the turnout, dancers might be called out individually or as a pair to perform their freestyle piece.
- Each dancer will be given 30 seconds to freestyle to the given music.
- Failure to respond to your turn when the emcee summons your number, your turn will be forfeited and no points will be awarded.
- Judges will then deliberate to choose the top scorers to proceed to the battle rounds.
- A Best 16 Battles for the next round will commence, comprising of the top 16 scorers from the auditions.
Battle Rounds – Best 16
- Dancers will be paired randomly in no order to do battle with each other.
- 1 round battles. Each dancer comes out once.
- Emcee will do a ‘bottle spin’ to decide which dancer goes first.
- The winner will be decided by a panel of 3 judges. No point system.
- In the event of a draw, an extra round will be given to both dancers till a winner is decided.
Battle Rounds – Best 8 & Best 4 (Semi Finals)
- Dancers will be paired randomly in no order to do battle with each other.
- 2 round battles. Each dancer comes out twice.
- 2 sets of music will be played. 1 for each round
- 50 seconds time limit each round per dancer.
- Emcee will do a ‘bottle spin’ to decide which dancer goes first.
- A panel of 3 judges will decide the winner. No point system.
- In the event of a draw, an extra round will be given to both dancers till a winner is decided.
- Winner of each battle will face of in the next final rounds.
Battle Rounds – Finals
- 3 round battles. Each dancer comes out thrice.
- In case of a lack of time, the battle will only be for 2 rounds.
- 3 sets of music will be played. 1 for each round
- 50 Seconds time limit each round per dancer.
- Emcee will do a ‘bottle spin’ to decide which dancer goes first.
- A panel of 3 judges will decide the winner. No point system.
- In the event of a draw, an extra round will be given to both dancers till a winner is decided.
Judging Criteria
There are no specific judging score sheet criteria. However, judges will look out for the following:
- Foundation
- Rhythm
- Technicality
- Musicality
- Character/Projection
- Flow
BATTLE RULES

LCL Locking Session + New LCL Forum!

Venue: Nanyang Polytechnic Atrium (block A)
Time: 715pm onwards till 10pm
Meeting time and venue: 7pm at Yio Chu Kang MRT Station
Special invited guests:
All Top 8 locking teams for this year's KO Night!
FonKay Styles, Lock Out Loud, Lockers AD, Tiny Pink Monsters, Left2Lock, Mr & Mrs Funk Soul Quack, The Usual Suspects, The Dope & The Joke, will all be present!
The session is free for all to attend, so just come down and have a funky boogie time with us! All are welcomed! =D

LCL's Performing for The Big Groove!
Good news for Lion City Lockers!
This year, Lion City Lockers will be performing for The Big Groove 2009, organised by O School! =D
The Big Groove is a great opportunity for us to show everyone, including dancers from all over Asia, how far the locking scene in Singapore has grown. The performers for the show will not only be representing Lion City Lockers, but also generally the entire locking community in Singapore!
